Greg is a Defence acquisition and sustainment specialist who has recently retired after over 37 years of service with the Royal Australian Air Force and in that time achieved the rank of Air Vice marshal. He is an accomplished leader with expertise across aviation maintenance, complex procurement, management of major projects, contract management and independent assurance reviews.

He joined the RAAF in 1985 and graduated as an Aeronautical Engineer. Throughout his career he experienced various acquisition and sustainment leadership

roles across most of the RAAF aircraft operational and training fleets. Later senior executive positions in CASG were focused on the Air Combat Capability and he finished his military Career as Head of Aerospace.

Whilst Officer Commanding of the Training Aircraft Systems Program Office, he was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross for outstanding achievement. He was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List for his exceptional service in the fields of aerospace acquisition and sustainment. He is a graduate of Australian Command and Staff College and the London Business School Senior Executive Programme.

AVM (Retired) Hoffmann is a current RAAF Reservist and retains a current TS (PV) security clearance.
