AIRCDRE Stuart Bellingham DSC, AM, CSC (ret'd)
Air Commodore Stuart Bellingham has extensive experience across a broad range of Joint and Combined operations and training. His career of over 34 years has built specialist knowledge of ground and flying training, extensive experience in Command and leadership both on operations and in training, and in-depth understanding of capability acquisition and development for the Australian Defence Force.
Stuart is a recognized and respected leader who has been awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross for his leadership of Australian Defence Force efforts to develop and establish the ADF’s Joint Terminal Attack Control capability, as well as being awarded the Distinguish Service Cross for his command and leadership of the Australian Air Task Group during Operation OKRA in 2015.
Stuart has proven operational and training experience in the development and employment of capabilities as they relate to high end war fighting, having been Director of the Air and Space Operations Centre (2014-2015), commanded 42 Wing (2016-2017) which was responsible for the RAAF Airborne Early Warning and Control capability (E-7) and having been the Director General of Australian Defence Force Joint Collective Training from 2019-2021.
He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2019 and has been awarded the United States Bronze Star. He has qualifications as a Qualified Flying Instructor, as a Joint Terminal Attack Control Instructor, as a Forward Air Controller, is a graduate of the Australian Defence Strategic Studies Course, and has a Masters in Strategic Studies.
Air Commodore Bellingham holds a current security clearance and was appointed a Senior Advisor to the Public Sector Advisory Board in 2022.
